How We Work
Whether you’re a medium-sized dynamic business or a multinational company, we offer one-to-one access to senior tax professionals across the globe. Our teams listen closely to your needs and respond quickly with insightful solutions.

Tax Services
At Grant Thornton, our tax professionals guide our clients through the maze of local and regional taxation issues. We also provide crucial advice to foreign investors wishing to establish operations in Antigua. Our objective is to help clients maximize their tax efficiency while fulfilling their statutory obligations. Our services include:

  • Tax Planning: We provide tax-planning advice to a wide range of local and international companies and individuals. Apart from offering innovative tax planning advice, we can also assist with obtaining tax concessions for inward investors under the appropriate local legislation.
  • Transaction Services: Advising on the structuring of transactions and ownership to minimize local and international tax, drawing on the expertise of our global network where necessary.

Tax Compliance
We provide a wide range of direct and indirect (notably VAT) tax compliance services, which include the following:

  • Tax registration
We can assist with tax registration with the Inland Revenue Department and other statutory bodies.
  • Preparation and filing of corporate and tax returns
We prepare corporate tax returns required for filing with the Inland Revenue Department (IRD). Where necessary, we apply for an extension of time to file these tax returns to avoid any penalties.
  • Notice of assessments
We receive, and review notices of assessment raised by the Inland Revenue Department regarding the corporate return filed and advise on further action.
  • Tax planning and advisory services
We assist our clients in planning their affairs to minimize taxes payable while remaining compliant with the tax laws.
  • Tax audits and appeal services
We represent and assist our clients in the resolution of all tax audit matters with the Inland Revenue Department, including the provision of advice and assistance throughout the objection and appeal processes.

Expatriate Services
We assist both local and international companies in obtaining work permits for their expatriate employees who are relocating to Antigua. This service includes assisting with the completion of the necessary application forms, submitting these to the Immigration and Passport Departments, and following them through the processing system.

We liaise with our colleagues in the Grant Thornton network in other countries to ensure that taxation issues pertinent to individuals who are being recruited or relocated are appropriately addressed in both the sending and receiving country for the individual's maximum advantage.
